Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the From Here app and website. By using From Here, you agree to them.

The service

From Here is a personal journaling app. Optionally, you can pay to have an entry printed and mailed as a physical postcard, fulfilled by our printing partner.

Your content

Your journal belongs to you. By sending a postcard, you give us permission to transmit the selected content to our printing and mailing partners solely to produce and deliver that card. You are responsible for the content you write and send; don't use the service to send unlawful, harassing, or abusive material, and only mail postcards to recipients where doing so is appropriate.

Postcards and payments

Postcard prices are shown before you pay and are charged via Stripe at the time you place the order. Because postcards are custom-printed and mailed, an order generally cannot be canceled once it enters production. If a card fails to print or mail due to a fault on our side, contact us and we'll make it right with a reprint or a refund. We are not responsible for postal delays or delivery failures once a card is accepted by the postal service, or for incorrect addresses you provide.

From Here Plus

From Here Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription. It raises your cloud storage allowance from 1 GB to 50 GB and takes $1 off every postcard you send, for as long as the subscription is active.

Pricing and billing. Plus is offered monthly at $3.99 and yearly at $29.99 (US pricing; prices elsewhere are set by Apple for your region and shown in the app before you buy). Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price of the plan you are on.

Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings, or from Storage inside the app, which opens those same settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and we do not offer partial refunds for an unused part of a period. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.

If Plus ends. Your allowance returns to the free 1 GB and postcards return to their standard price. Nothing you have already stored is deleted because a subscription lapsed. If your library is larger than the free allowance it stays where it is and stays readable — new photos and videos simply stop backing up until you free some space or subscribe again.

Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app, which permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempts to disrupt or overload our systems, access other people's data, or use the service for unlawful purposes. We may suspend accounts that do.

Disclaimers

From Here is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continuing to use From Here after a change means you accept the updated terms.
